Name: Ariadne Bishop
Age: 112
Apparent Age: 28
Sex: Female
Race: Vampire - Malkavian
Sire: William Reid
Generation: 9
Date of Birth: March 23, 1901
Date of Embrace: December 8, 1929
Personality: Appears to be distracted from time to time. Is normally outgoing and friendly, but can sometimes react in unexpected ways.
Life in the Past/History:
Ariadne is the daughter of Lucian and Christine Bishop. Her mother died when she was still a toddler under mysterious circumstances. As a result, she grew up traveling with her father, a small time treasure hunter, living mostly off the family estate than his actual findings. During this time, she developed her interest and talent for archeology. Many of the findings in the later years of her father's life were made by her. It was because of her latest discovery that her father was invited to join a large expedition to Northern Europe.
Her memories of the events are fuzzy. The official version told by the other survivor, William Reid, says that they were caught in an avalanche when exploring one of the caves, which collapsed the entrance. They were spared because they have stayed behind at the camp. It was also during this time that Reid embraced her, claiming that it will ensure her survival given that the avalanche buried most of their gear too.
During the next two decades, William trained her both as a vampire and an archeologist. Sometimes taking odd pleasure in tormenting her and other times lavishing her with affection. One night, she woke to find him gone without a word, leaving behind only the ghouled assistant, Tristan. On her own for the very first time in her life and unlife, Ariadne fell back on the one thing she knew how to do, treasure hunting. But Tristan was used as the front, making himself a name among the small community, while she remained obscured in anonymity. Until the recent years, when she began to surface as the newest talent in archeology, having written numerous dissertations on the subject and contributed a number of new discoveries and theories.
Integration: She is in town on vacation of sorts, having been invited as a guest lecturer at Mercer University. She is in town with her butler Mina (ghoul NPC) while Tristan remains in England taking care of the estate.
Any Special Notes or Abilities:
Derangement: Dissociative Identity Disorder (Formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder)
Ariadne has a number of personalities, of which the three following are most apparent.
The first one being the one she normally displays, quite ordinary except for the slightly wild look due to the nightmares and images that continuously haunt her at the most inopportune moments. The images involve the deaths of her parents in numerous ways, the dark enclosed space her sire often locked her up within during her training, the looks of the victims she's fed upon. This often drives her to take risks, forcing her to focus and keep her distracted for the images. This identity is unaware of the existence of the others.
The second one usually takes over when she finds herself cornered or on occasion, for no reason at all. This one being much darker, as it recalls the details of her father's death. He did not die of the avalanche, but rather, it was she who killed him. Hungry after her embrace, her father and the few other survivors at the time became her meal. Knowing no restraint in her frenzied state, she drained every drop from them. This identity harbors a deep hatred for William Reid and what she had become. More than once, she's lashed out against him during her training, much to his amusement as he often goads her into it. In this state, she is much more reckless and impulsive, bordering on masochistic at times. This identity is aware of the existance of the main identity and has all of her memories.
The last identity very rarely surfaces. It is a child version of Ariadne, one with the recollection of the night her mother died, preyed upon by a vampire. She does not know his name, but recalls the hair, very much like William Reid's hair. She recalls attempting to pull him off her mother, only to be easily tossed aside. Maybe it was then that her sire took interest on her and later on embraced her. This identity is unaware of the existence of the others.
